Sela Lin (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist, form maker, storyteller, and analog film enthusiast. Being a second-generation immigrant born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i, her experiences during her youth in her hometown––and later, early adulthood in Seattle, Washington––largely inform her practice as an artist. Her artworks explore the intersection of time and space, situating itself as an ongoing inquiry into the delicate interplay between memory and lived experience. In navigating these themes, Lin is often drawn to commonplace materials, sensorial installations, and absurd performances.
Lin graduated from the University of Washington with bachelor’s degrees in Interdisciplinary Visual Art Honors and Japanese. Her works have been published in Muse, Bricolage Literary & Visual Arts Journal, The BASEMENT, HOMEROOM, and Artianne Magazine. She has exhibited locally in Seattle at the Jacob Lawrence Gallery, Gallery B612, and The Fishbowl. Her performance and installation work is currently showing in The Circular Ruins at 4C Gallery in Los Angeles, CA.
